Two Types of Fire Alarms

There are two types of fire systems we supply:

• Analogue addressable – the most modern type of fire alarm. Analogue addressable systems indicate the exact detector that has been activated, they can pinpoint the location of the potential fire, this is why it's a necessity to be installed in large buildings as every device connected to this type of alarm has its own unique address, they connect all devices to the control panel using one wire. The Safety Centre can supply analogue addressable fire alarm control panels manufactured by Morley, C-Tec and Gent. To compliment this range of control panels, we can supply a variety of compatible protocol system detectors, manual call points and sounders from manufacturers such as Nittan, Apollo and Notifier.

• Conventional (Non-Addressable) – unlike analogue addressable fire alarms, conventional systems indicate the zone rather than the exact detector. Ideal for small buildings, the detectors go off individually when they detect heat or smoke. They’re set up in zones, each zone is hardwired to a control panel or expander and they have a different wire for each device with each wire connecting to the control panel. We supply a range of conventional fire equipment from manufacturers such as C-Tec, Morley, Gent, Notifier and Kentec.
